Forgot to post this a year ago as the Thunder Moon litter headed to their homes and the weather turned cold.

It suddenly got quiet here as each puppy left and life returned to normal. Blueberry and Cucumber were the last to go and hard to let go. They all were. But last night we had a birthday party for the Frost Moon litter and it was a Frost Moon kind of night. We had mulled cider and wine and watched the pups – now adults – relate to each other as we compared notes. Gaucho takes his nine year old boy, Matthew, to the bus every day and every kid at the bus stop has to hug him. He is the mascot for their soccer team. Niko at two is now beginning to act a bit more mature, and Hardy still thinks he is a human being and takes his seat at the dining room table to read the paper, just like Dad. We won’t hold it against him that he showed amorous interest in his mother. He was the tallest of the dogs we saw last night but then, he WAS “Mr. Big.” Picasso couldn’t make it, but wanted to come, and Mose couldn’t come this time. Dax was on a trip, and Ridin’ with Biden aka Peanut Butter Chunk (formerly Houdini aka Jude Law) moved to live in the Redwoods. He has apparently created quite a stir out there. Ozzie had multiple social engagements, and Macie in Richmond felt it was too far to come for a party. Strawberry was the hostess with the mostest and Juno got two pieces of cake.
